Work Smarter, Not Harder!
What is Study Skills?
This course emphasizes learning skills for success in middle school. Students explore personal academic strengths and weaknesses, learning styles, and strategies for success in their academic and arts courses. Topics include taking notes, reading efficiently, preparing for exams, learning styles, test preparation, managing yourself and your environment.
Nothing replaces the in-class "live event" learning experience. Make every attempt to be present every day.

6th Grade Study SkillsNote Taking is just one of the skills we learn in 6th grade. We are currently working on a project concerning the areas where students study. The final project will be a 500 word essay. The students were defeated the moment they heard the length, but have since learned that writing one paragraph at a time makes a daunting task bearable.

7th & 8th Grade Study SkillsDinah Zike's Foldables are the focus of our study skills this year. We modified the saying, "There's An App for That" to "There's A Foldable for That!" We are learning the foldables and applying curriculum from academic courses to the foldables. Each student has a Foldable Notebook. Have you seen your child's?
